Apulit Island is El Nido Resort’s Eco-Adventure island resort and is set in beautiful Taytay Bay on Palawan’s North East coastline. Offering similar dramatic limestone seascapes as El Nido and Bacuit Bay Taytay is a slightly quieter and less well known destination and attracts those looking for both outdoor excitement as well as tropical island comfort and seclusion.
There are plenty of activities for thrill-seekers including rock climbing and rappelling, cave exploration and spelunking, sailing, wind-surfing, kayaking and island hopping. With pristine reefs surrounding the island and with a range of sites to suit all levels of experience this is a good destination for divers. Snorkelers will be thrilled with the beautiful coral formations and teeming marine life close to the resort. All outdoor adventures are arranged by Apulit’s activity coordinators who assure guests of fun filled days.
The resort has 50 water cottages that combine traditional Filipino architectural style with contemporary design. The cottages are all built on stilts, perched above the sea with an unobstructed view of the azure blue Taytay Bay, surrounding islands, and dramatic limestone cliffs. There are 30 Water Cottages built around the main cove of the island and a further 20 larger Loft Water Cottages are located on the western cove. All cottages have private verandas over the water and a full range of amenities to ensure a comfortable stay.
The centerpiece of the resort is the fine white central cove, a strip of white sandy beach fringed with tall palm trees. Here in the tropical gardens is located Apulit’s Clubhouse which serves perfect Island dining both buffet and a la carte style and the refreshing swimming pool that overlooks the beach and lagoon.
