Boracay is one of the very best places to enjoy thrilling water sports activities in Asia. It’s a year round holiday destination with warm clear shallow waters and long sunny days which make it the perfect place for outdoor family fun and adventure!
One of the most popular activities on Boracay is the Paraw Sailing Adventure and is on the must-do list for many visitors!
A Paraw is a brightly colored local sail boat made with traditional materials and consists of a narrow main hull and wide expansive ‘outriggers’ for balance. The boat captain commands from the center of the boat and guests can relax whilst sitting or lying on comfortable netting along the outriggers.
Typically used for fishing and transport amongst the islands these native style Paraws are now a special tourist attraction and provides both a cultural insight into an historical Filipino way of sea travel whilst at the same time being a hugely fun and enjoyable family activity.
Daytime trips are a lovely way to see the island as the expertly guided sail boat hurries along in the gentle tropical winds. You watch the deep blue sea pass by underneath you whilst gazing at the passing beauty of Boracay and the other sea-going activity around this lively island.
It’s an eco-friendly, tranquil outing with just the wind to power these swift boats along and with little noise you get to see hidden beaches and coves not usually seen from the land and imagine an ocean going lifestyle so different from or current lives.
Sunset sailing is a romantic time to sail on a Paraw as the afternoon skies change into a vivid array of colors and as the sun drifts below the horizon the cooler evening breezes carry you back to the Beach.
Just one of the many exciting adventures and activities that is available on Boracay – Asia’s best beach holiday destination.
Guests for Paraw Sailing are collected by their Guides from their resort or hotel or meet at Paraw centers at Station 1 and Station 3 along White Beach.
Paraw Sailing Adventures are suitable for the whole family though younger children may prefer to stay on land.
Depending on weather conditions and wind direction the Paraw sailing trips either run alongside the West coast or East coast of the island.
Trips last for approximately 30- 40 minutes and boats are managed by a captain and experienced and helpful crew. Customer comfort and safety is further ensured by compulsory life-jackets to be worn at all times during your trip.
It’s a great way to meet new friends and to see Boracay from a different perspective.
